From inspiration sparked by a jasmine perfume to creating a luxurious experience for customers, Renáta Muchová, founder of ORACULUM, shares insights on the challenges of entrepreneurship, her dedication to design and quality, and her quest for balance between work and personal life.
“The spark was a jasmine perfume I once received from my mother.“
Could you share some pivotal moments that were essential to launching your business?
Like many entrepreneurs, my journey began when I noticed something missing in the market that I personally desired. The spark was a jasmine perfume I once received from my mother. Its scent left a profound impact, and I wanted others to feel the same joy and connection I felt then. This desire led me to explore the world of essences, scent typology, and their impact on emotions. As I immersed myself, I not only began crafting my own scents but also embraced their complexity and influence on mood and atmosphere. Each fragrance I created helped shape ORACULUM’s identity and direction, reinforcing my mission to create scents that tell stories and bring joy.
What key moments have strengthened you as an entrepreneur?
Perseverance and determination are essential in business. I’ve encountered many obstacles—from supply issues to manufacturing challenges and translating my vision into reality. I like to compare it to walking alongside a crumbling rock face, where small stones can suddenly turn into boulders, and it’s your resolve that determines if you’ll overcome them.

How does your approach to design and production set you apart, and what message do you aim to convey to your customers?
I’m very visually driven, so I knew from the start that we weren’t just selling a product but a complete experience. Every detail—from our social media presence to the packaging itself—is carefully considered. I wanted each interaction with our product to be an aesthetically pleasing experience. That’s why I partnered with the renowned design studio Činčera to ensure that even the unboxing is a luxurious moment. Beyond visual appeal, quality is non-negotiable. We use only top-quality ingredients, and each product is rigorously tested to meet our standards for durability and performance.

Balancing a business and personal life can be challenging. How do you manage this balance, and what advice would you give to other women pursuing entrepreneurship?
I’d love to say I’ve found the perfect balance, but in reality, it’s an ongoing journey. For me, working smart is just as important as working hard. I focus on learning from mistakes and cutting out unnecessary steps. My advice to women starting their entrepreneurial journey: be prepared to dedicate time but also learn how to manage it and delegate tasks effectively. Focus on areas where you can make the most impact, and don’t be too hard on yourself if balance isn’t always perfect.

What are your future plans? Where do you see ORACULUM in a few years?
Our main ambition with ORACULUM is expansion, particularly reaching an international audience. We’re also considering a rebranding to unify and refresh the brand, giving it an even more sophisticated touch.
